RTD and original home passport

Hello! I came as a refugee but sponsored by the church and I have my PR as well! Do I need to apply for the RTD or certificate of identity! And I have my national passport and it’s valid!

When I apply for the travel document, do they return my national passport after applying and getting the RTD!?

You must obtain an RTD if you wish to travel. Do not travel using your home country passport or renew your home country passport. If you do, you risk having Canadian citizenship refused and your PR status revoked.

Doesn't matter. Whichever is convenient for you. However, if you're filling it with hand make sure your writing is legible and easy to read.
