Oh and by the way...if you look at the date I emailed a scan of my passport and the date they issued me my CoPR...they are the same. So I would suggest anyone who is visa-exempt should email a scan of their passport regardless of whether it is explicitly requested!! 8)
Congratz man. I'm so happy for you.
Have a good weekend!

I from visa exempt country too and applied within Canada. When I got RPRF email request on May 27 the only thing that was mentioned about passport was that it has to be valid.

:''Please note: Passports for you and all accompanying family members must be valid at the time of visa issuance. If your passports have expired or will be expiring within the next 6 months, we encourage you to apply for new passports as soon as possible. This may delay the issuance of your visas. ''

Nothing mentioned about photocopies of passport pages.

Do you think its better to send it to them even if they did not ask for it at all? If so what is the address (or email)? Or should I just wait?

ps. My ECAS status was changed to Decision Made on June 27th and haven`t heard from them since.

I applied through CPP-O as well, so I guess it should be the same email address. I've heard about couple different German folks who got residency recently and they did not send any photocopies of PP pages.
However its almost 2 months since I have paid RPRF and almost one month since ECAS was changed to decision made. I am going to send them those copies.

Yes. Thats exactly the reason why I send them too.
I knew I didn't have to send, but it doesn't hurt to send it right?
Good luck

Denny one more question :)

What does CoPR says or what is the procedure once you get it?
The thing is that I am in Canada however need to go home for uncertain time and wandering if I need to wait for CoPR here in Canada or can wait back home. I would manage someone to pick up my mails and all this stuff.
I am just wandering if I have to be here or if I will have to come back to Canada in certain time after getting CoPR... because maybe I will have to be out of Canada for a year or so.
Need to find out all this stuff before I decide to leave Canada as I don't want to lose everything specially when I am so close.

huge thanks

Hi.
CoPR has your picture and says you are now a permanent resident in Canada. One you get it, your last step is activate PR by re-entering Canada.

You can do it at any border or local CIC office(Canada place-usually take 6-9weeks to get appointment)

You have to re enter Canada with CoPR before it expires(usually one year from your medical test)

You can leave Canada before CoPR and get someone to pick it up for you. However, it is not such a good idea if you can not come back Canada with in 2 or 3 month. CoPR has to activate before expire and it can not be extended or reissue.

Also, CoPR cant not be use as travel document. It is nothing but just confirmation letter for PR.

If you need to be out for long term, you should stay for CoPR and re enter Canada and get PR card before you leave. PR card takes about 6-9weeks after you re-entered Canada.

Once you get PR card, you can leave Canada with no worries.

I also got losts of help from this site. so dont worry about my help. lol
Once you go to border and sign on your CoPR, you can put your friends address for PR card.

Yeah i think if you have to go outside country, you can leave after sign CoPR.

And don't forget to update your new status with sin card, health care and bank after you became PR.

Good luck!
