I read it too late that we're supposed to write the name of the person who paid for the RPRF on the receipt before sending it to CPC-M:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/right-of-permanent-residence-fee-t48369.30.html

My sponsor paid the RPRF, but I wrote my name (applicant) on the receipt and sent it to CPC-M.

Has this happened to anyone here? What should I do next? Resend RPRF receipt with my sponsor's details?

I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

Hello rumpelstiltskin, just FYI that link you read is from 2010 so I suggest you go on the CIC website to see the updated info.........and I do not believe it matters who pays or whose name is on the receipt, especially as many people use their parent's credit cards or a friend's if they do not have one. If you find out different after checking the CIC website please come back and let us know. Good luck!! :)

Thanks for pointing that out, CdnandTrini. I'll check the CIC site again. :)

The receipt clearly states "payer information". If I were you, I would reprint the receipt and put the name and information of the person who paid the fee/s. Scan it and if they ask for it during Stage 1 then you have it on hand to email it. If not, once your file is forwarded to the VO responsible for your file then you can email it there with a brief explanation.

Thanks, MadeInCanada. They asked for the RPRF fee along with the PPR. I've emailed CPC-M to explain the situation and asked if I need to fill out the receipt again with my wife's details (since she paid for the RPRF using her credit card). I haven't heard back yet. If I don't hear back from CPC-M, I'll fill out the receipt again (this time with my wife's details) and send a copy with a short explanation to CPC-M and the VO.

Do you guys know if CPC-M has a hotline for this sort of questions? All I could find is their fax number.

I had a Lawyer about this, and he told me it doesn't matter who paid the fee or whose name is on the receipt. Important thing is the Fee got paid and CIC can relate the payment with your file number.

But, since you wrote to them anyway, you will find out soon.

I never received a response to my email inquiry if I had to resend the RPRF receipt. I did call them the other week though. The agent who answered my call was very helpful and checked my application. The agent told me that my application already reflected the RPRF payment, so no action was required from me.

So it looks like goodman36 is correct that it doesn't matter whose name is on the receipt (maybe just make sure you got the UCI right). Thanks, goodman36!
