As most you know I am in the final preparation stages to send out our application.
I know its possible just to pay the application fees first. I am trying to get the application couriered out this week, be much easier if I can pay the RPRF next month. If I only choose to pay the application fees first, Must I wait for RPRF request? Would it be ok to pay RPRF next month or will things get "lost"

Thoughts on this ?

Thanks
Chris

you don't have to wait for cic to request it. It's usually suggested to pay it before it's requested to avoid delays in processing.

it's not a good idea to send in the payment until AFTER receiving sponsorship approval. At that point, you will have a file number and a uci number to reference when sending in the payment. If you don't have those numbers, then CIC will not know which application to attach the payment to.

so the options are - to pay upfront, pay it when you receive your file and uci number from CIC or when it's requested.

Could there be a delay in processing if I wait untill I receive approval and the uci number?

no.

Thank you I think I will go this route so I can send out the application this week.

If you can, I recommend paying everything up front. Sending in RPRF payment later has been known to delay things last I checked... anywhere from 1-4 months. I don't know if they have sped thing sup regarding this but basically the rule of thumb is to send everything up front.

I think that's if you wait until it's requested from CIC. from what i understand if it's sent before processing starts at the visa office or before it's requested, it doesn't cause a delay.

Yes - I applied in December and paid mine in June, I still got a request for it in July

I sent them a case specific email saying I had already paid and a week later I now have decision made, it has caused no delay in my processing

You don't have to pay it right away but try and pay it before they request it to avoid any delays
