Hi all,

We received an email from CIC on January 30, 2013 requesting her passport and RPRF to be received no later than March 13, 2013. We paid online and mailed her passport and a printout of the receipt to the embassy in Beijing on February 2nd, but I have just realized that we should have sent the receipt to the CPC in Mississauga.

Her medical exam results are good until August, and on ecas, the status still says "in process".

I will mail a printout of the receipt by express post tomorrow to CPC in Mississauga.

We are very worried that because we missed the deadline specified in the email requesting the passport and RPRF receipt that she could be rejected.

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks so much,

Matt

I would certainly include a note of explanation that it was sent to your VO by the date specified, and include any confirmation of that (if you have it - did you send it registered or signature receipt?)

We sent it within China using EMS, we have the tracking numbers which show that it was received in the mail, but no confirmation of receipt of the specific documents.

Also, does anyone have the specific email address where I should send the note? I will have to wait until Monday to mail the receipt, but I want them to know the situation as soon as possible.

If they reject the application because of this, do we have grounds for an appeal?

u can also email the receipt to CPC-M at CPCM-EXTCOM@cic.gc.ca. it takes abt 6-8 weeks to update n match the receipt with ur file. meanwhile, also send email to your visa office letting them know about the mistake you made n tht u have corrected it now. check this link for making/submitting inquiries: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/china-chine/visas/enquiry-how_demande-comment.aspx?view=d
Good luck

Thank you both for your help,

I have emailed a .pdf of the filled out receipt. (my mom's credit card was used, so it has her name, but my birthdate and client ID)

I included all the required file number and date info on the email, but have another question:

Should I still mail the hard copy just in case?

We are very worried about this, have applications been rejected because of this sort of thing?

Thanks again,

Matt

You can mail the hard copy, but I don't think that your application will be rejected because of that. The way I understood it ( and I might be wrong of course!) is that the VO can not "see" that the payment has gone through - only CIC in Canada can do that. So when you send the RPRF, CIC will inform your VO that they received the payment, and then the VO can issue the visa.
In your case, the VO can see (since you sent the receipt) that you have made the payment, but they haven't received the confirmation from Mississauga... but they will soon as Mississauga is now aware.
So hopefully it shouldn't delay it too much, and you should hear back from the VO. Just send an email / case-specific enquiry to your VO to let them know what happened, and explain that you have now sent the confirmation to Mississauga as well, and I think it should be fine.
Good luck,
Sweden

One more question: Which address I should send the RPRF receipt to? (I am applying outland through the Beijing Embassy)

CPC Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga, ON
L5A 4N6

or

RPRF payments or other correspondence:
CPC Mississauga
P.O. Box 6100, Station A
Mississauga, ON
L5A 4H4

Thanks again so much!

Don't worry.

They got the passport. Your visa office will wait to issue the visa until the payment is input in the system, which they cannot do from an outland visa office. That's why they wanted you to send it to CPC-M.

While the visa office may have forwarded it themselves, it's best that you e-mail the receipt to CPC-M through the relevant link at the bottom of http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-after.asp. They will reflect the payment in your file and your VO will see it in the system. Ta da :)

I don't know if that is exactly true. I got a request to pay my RPRF three same day I got my PPR. I paid it the next day and sent a copy to CPC-M and received my visa a month later. But maybe I was lucky.
