Hi,

Is it ok to make draft in Canadian dollars drawn on Citibank Canada, anybody has made such draft.

Please advice.

It can be drawn on an any bank in Canada.

I am asking this because, once I applied for Canadian visit visa in local embassy and the paid the few by draft drawn on Citibank Canada they returned the application saying that they are not accepting draft drawn on Citibank Canada.

If a bank from out side Canada issue a demand draft in Canadian dollar drawn on their correspondent bank in Canada to:
Receiver General for Canada, the amount will go to the payees account. I don not have any knowledge about why CIC don't accept any DD drawn on Citi Bank in Canada. CIC did not mention in the guide that the DD should be drawn on certain banks only.

From which bank you are making the draft in Saudi Arabia. Is it Citi bank Saudi Arabia? There may be a case CIC had problems getting money en cashed from CITI bank Canada. In my opinion don't go for CITI BANK Canada again.

You can also ask your visa office urgently if they can accept draft from Citi bank canada but in my opinion don't use citi bank canada again.

thanks

If you located in Saudi Arabia, why not go to the HSBC. They issue CAD demand draft to Canada and there is no problem at all.I did already in 2008 from HSBC.

One demand draft is OK.

From my understanding I don't have to pay RPRF for my dependent child! Is that correct...

Yes you are correct. Check this. I have underlined....

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng&view=d#rprf

Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) Applicants for permanent residence can pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee ($490) at the time they submit their application or at a later date when requested. The processing fee is still required when submitting an application. The following applicants are not required to pay the RPRF:

dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild;
protected persons, including Convention refugees.

for Bangladeshi people, Singapore VO only excepts Bank Drafts from Standard Chartered Bank of Bangladesh.
FYI.
