Hi everyone! My husband is an international student in Canada and he invited me and my son to stay with him during the period of his studies (approx 9months). I have just recently submitted our TRV application. Now my concern is, if we will be staying in Canada for lets say, 7 months. Do we (me and my son) need to get a roundtrip ticket? Will the immigration ask for it once we enter Canada? If yes, will that mean that return ticket should be our planned date of leaving Canada (after 7months) or just a pretend ticket like getting the cheapest rate, maybe date is a month after our arrival in Canada? Thanks in advance!

If you show a round ticket for 7 months then you are asking for trouble. The longest stay is 6 months and if you are already planning to stay longer that is not something the CBSA officer is going to like too much.

The correct way of doing what you want to do is through a spousal work permit.
