Thank you missy and Betina.

Missy, 9 months is very long. Is your ecas changed to in process.

Actually, I`m not hurry. But waiting is always frustrating.

Good luck

Just a friendly advice-if you ever need to send something from Bulgaria to the embassy in Bucharest-use Speedy.
It is 5 times cheaper than DHL and it is delivered in 24 hours or less!

E-cas is not the most reliable source of information :) It usually goes to "in process" and then right away to "decision made", so it doesn't reflect very accurately when the VO starts processing the application.

x-ing, I dont't know if you still read the forum.

I got PPR and the same 12month validity issue. I chamged my passport as it was going to expire before the visa did, but I also have two babies and I can't change their passport without the father being present as hedis now in Canada. Their passports expire 2 months after the visa does.

Did you encounter any problems when sending your passport ?

Hi Yasmine,

Congratulations on your PPR! Yours was a long time coming. We did not have any issues whatsoever. Not from the embassy, not at the border. Even the GCMS notes did not mention this as a problem (it wasn't mentioned at all)

Thank you!!!

Yes it was verrrrry long, when we applied the processing time for sponsor approval was around 120 days, then the CSQ was denied, we asked for a review which took one extra month, then processing time at the VO started going from 6 to 7, 9, 11 months. I also got pregnant and we had to wait for the birth, adding the babies to the sponsorship, again with the sponsor approval (for which first we sent the wrong forms cause I googled the IMM008 and the first hit was an old form), their CSQs were the last milestone, a few hours after I emailed them I received PPR.

Now I'm waiting to get the passports back, hopefully with some good news :D

They posted the new processing times - Bucharest added one month to the tab. This is disappointing.

I saw it today, but I'm still trying to ignore the information >:(

Just got my GCMS notes and I'm getting depressed :( There's nothing started.

Even more, the due dates for the Security and Criminality checks are long passed, but the assessment is not even started :'(

Can anybody tell me why the due date for the eligibility assessment is 1 year, and the ones for security were only a few weeks?

Besides passing the medical, there's nothing there :( The only note that said something about us was made by CPC Miss. and it was about the fact that my husband said in his forms that he intended to return to Canada in 2014/01/01 and that the VO must verify his intent of returning. But we put that date because we thought that we will get the visa by that time :(

I'm thinking about asking for the notes every month.

Betina, I know exactly how you feel. I am roughly one month ahead of you (filed in April). My notes show the exact same thing, with due dates long passed and no check started. My medical was updated while the file was still in Mississauga. Someone checked the file for completion in June in Bucharest and that's where the work stops [and I believe that during this step they decided to ask you to re-send that form].

As for checking the sponsor, in our file they said "VO to assess intent of sponsor as CC residing abroad". Is this all they mentioned on your file, or did they write the date [beginning of 2014] as well?

They wrote the date, that's what worries us a bit.
Spr is CC residing in Romania. As per IMM5540, spree intends to return to Canada 2014/01/01. Visa office to verify spr's intent to return. CSCD not entered.

Congratulations, neda_nn! Have a great life in Canada! May your luck rub on us too :-D

It's nice to see happy people. Congrats!

Betina, it seems that they have a tendency to approve sponsors in Mississauga and then let the VO check the facts. I've just discovered this recent thread (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/proof-of-sponsors-intent-of-returning-to-canada-t171608.0.html). There are many people who receive letters from the VO telling them to send documents showing that the sponsor started severing ties with the sponsored person's country.

Betine don't bother about security and criminality. I received PPR in oct and the GCMS notes dated in september had security and criminality not started, so they might do that at the end of your processing.

If the date concerning sponsor's return is bothering you and you don't hear anything from them until then, just send an inquiry to the VO in december and let them know the sponsor won't be able to return to canada on the specified dates, but await the procesing with you. Just make sure you have proof of intent for when they ask for it (maybe a letter from a friend or family member saying that the will house you or help you find a house, lease contract if u have one by then, job prospectives etc you know)
Or just wait until they contact you.

Processing is also influenced by their holidays. They have a lot of vacation days. So basically things slow down during xmas month and summer.

PS: i found that sending inquiries actually makes them take a look over the file. Mine went into processing right after I announced them i was pregnant and due soon. I have a feeling that if i wouldve told them from the begining they might have speed up things and i would have given birth in canada.

Best of luck!!
