Oh, how I envy you :-p

x-ing, when you asked for your GCMS notes, did you provide a postal mailing address? If yes, did they ask for any proof for that (copy of passport, bill with address etc.?) Because my husband is with me in Bucharest, we want to ask some friends to ask for our notes through CIC's website. But I don't know if we should ask them to provide proof of their living in Canada. Also, I would like to tell them if there's a chance that someone from CIC will call them on the phone number provided through the request to confirm that they made the request :)

Hi Betina,

I understand you, I used to think the same whenever I saw someone going "PPR, COPR, VISA!!!" ... you're happy that someone else has progressed, that things are moving along, but you can't stop wondering "When will my turn come?" :'(
Well, I trust that yours will come soon. Based on your timeline, your application should go into process any time now.

As far as the GCMS notes go, I provided my Canadian home address and just attached a photocopy of my Alberta driver's license. No one called me, and I doubt they will call your friends. They prefer emails to any phone calls. And it's actually a different department that's doing the case look-ups (not CIC).

A question for those of you who have already ordered GCMS files: how long did it take for the request to be registered and to receive the second tracking number or an acknowledgement of the beginning of processing?
We received the first e-mail with the temporary tracking number 6 days ago and no second e-mail yet.

Thank you, x-ing, for you kind words. I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up to much because I don't know how much the fact that both you and your wife were already in Canada counts when it comes to the speed of the processing. Now I'm just waiting for the GCMS notes. Just trying to take it step by step, I guess :-D

I'm interested in this, also :) It's incredible how CIC can multiply the levels of aimless waiting :)))

Hi everyone,

In regards to GCMS here's our situation:

1st set of notes:
- Ordered on July 26th
- Recieved automatic reply with reciept number
- Sent immediate follow-up via email to confirm we ordered copy of electronic files on July 26th
- Received reply on August 7th with tracking number and estimated completion date
- Received notes August 26th

2nd set of notes:
- Ordered September 10
- Did not receive any tracking numbers. just receipt number
- Received notes October 10th

A bit of an update from us, we flagpoled on October 8th. It was as people say it is - very easy and painless. The officer was surprised that we had the conditional PR, but I told her that that's sort of CICs thing now to combat marriage fraud and she just said "Oh..." :)
Other than that, we can't believe the process is over, but I can only imagine what you guys are going through. I'll be sticking around here for a while to make sure that everyone gets their visas!

And of course on October 10th (2 days later after we landed) we got our case notes (printer September 30th, 3 days after visa issuance).

Betina, it looks like they are checking for RPRF payment at the time file goes in progress, so given that you paid it a month ago, I believe you should be good!

Security checks for us took about two weeks (one can only guess, since they blank out the activity start date for security), but my wife didn't live in any other countries other than Moldova and Canada (and she started studying in Canada before she was 18).

Is this something we are required to do? I received only the "noreply" with the receipt number, no message saying they need a follow-up confirmation.

x-ing, thanks for the info and best wishes in all your future endeavors.

Betina, our no-reply confirmation e-mail said "Your temporary request tracking number is xxxxx. After your request has been registered, a new number will be assigned to your request." It's true, they never said we will get an e-mail with that number. I just wanted to see what experiences other people had regarding that so that we know if it's appropriate to worry or not :D.

Hello,

I`m from Bulgaria and my VO is Bucharest.

There my history.
Docs received 23 August 2013 in Mississauga.

Sponsor approval 13 September
Ecast is Docs received, Medical received.
Does anyone received AOR from Bucharest.
Good luck and hope everything will be fast.

Hello vania.

Bucharest doesn't seem to issue many AORs so you will have to settle for checking the ecas and seeing the "app received"+"medicals received" combo for a while.

May you have a speedy and uneventful processing.

Hi,

Yes, my ecas is app.received+med.received.
I just wondering about the AOR.

Wish a speedy processing to all.

Thank you Vania!

We are from Bulgaria too and its been 9months now! Do not worry they try to process the applications as quick as they can. It is the background checks that might take more time but that doesn't depend on the visa officers! Good luck too you too! :)

Hi Vania, welcome to the waiting game :))

I don't think VOs send AORs, that's something that only CIC does. Usually you can consider that your file reached the VO 3-4 weeks after SA (sponsor approval). Or you will know for sure if they ask for some more documents or details. And later, if you want to know what has happened with your file, you can ask for your GCMS notes.

Good luck and a speedy processing!
