Right to permanent residence fee?

Hello all,

My wife just received information from London asking for us to pay the right to permanent residency fee which we just did a few days ago. They said they couldn't make a decision without out.

A few questions. Has anyone paid after like us and if so how long was the delay. Also, would they request the payment and then deny residency or should we assume this means they will request the passpot next?

Being asked to pay the fee is definitely a positive sign. You should expect a passport request soon after it is confirmed that you made the payment. From experience with the Kingston, Jamaica VO, it can take from 2-4 weeks for confirmation of the payment to be received. London is a much more efficient office, however, so it may be less time.

You should note that if they put a brought-forward date on your file to check for the payment, it could be as much as 60 days more before they check your file again to confirm receipt of the payment. You might want to fax your receipt to London as well, with a cover note including applicant's name, DOB and file number.
