For those interested in the OCI process, Govt. of India recently revised the form for renunciation of Indian citizenship;

The main feature of this new form is that it requires you to declare;
The reasons /circumstances for acquiring foreign citizenship.


For those new to OCI ; By the current rules, one can reclaim Indian citizenship after 5 years as an OCI
and one year living in India .

Everybody's situation is unique. Not all the time everything goes according to plan. Family/medical emergency might happen back in India which would warrant dropping everything here and going back to India for an extended period or maybe even permanently. I am just pointing out one factor here.
