Hello,

Not sure if this is the place to post about this but will give it a go.
I am trying to return to Canada, however I have not met my obligations as a PR, and the card has expired.

I am just wondering about applying for SIN card, since I left before I needed one (because I was forced to move with family.) Can I basically go to Canada and use my expired PR card to apply for a SIN number?

Thanks.

If you can return to Canada without being reported, then you could remain in Canada for two years straight (without leaving) and then apply to renew your PR card.

You won't be able to use an expired PR card to apply for a SIN. So working is going to be a problem.

What do you mean when you say you were forced to move with your family? How old are you now?

I had to move away with my family when I was 15 because my dad got a new job, and i'm only now able to return to the country to live after finishing all my studies and able to support myself.

Again - how old are you now?

This is important as it may make it easier for you to return to Canada.
