I became a Permanent Residence on 16 November 2009, landed via Montreal and have stayed for less than 4 months. I left Montreal in March 2010 to my home country due to urgent family matters that I had to attend to. I may need to stay here for a year until the whole issue gets resolved. Question is can I return to Montreal next year in May2011 with my PR card alone? Am I required to present the Returning Permit or any other supporting documents which I did not apply? Should I also inform the local visa office here of my temporary stay? Pls advice as I do not want to loose the PR.
Thanks

Yes, you can return to Canada in 2011 using only PR Card and your passport.
You do not need to inform anyone about your stay outside Canada.
The returning Resident Permit doesn't exist anymore since the introduction of PR Card
