Returning to Canada after 2 years and 8 months with no PR card

Hi everyone,

i lived in Canada for 7 years and applied for the PR when i was there. I had to leave before getting my landing and when i got i went back to Canada on 24/10/2007 stayed there for a couple of days and left on 28/10/2007. I didnt get my PR card when i was there.
Can someone please tell me if it is possible to get a Travel Document and go back to Canada as i still have enough time to meet my residency obligations?
I need an urgent answer PLEASE.

I believe you may return to Canada after at most a 3 year absence.
