hi friends, i stay in canada for 1 year and returned to home. after 2.5 years of stay outside canada, i am returning to canada. my PR card is valid until july 2012.
to me i can complete the minimum requirement of 2 years out of 5 years for PR card renewal. if i go there in march/april 2011. i can easily complete another 14-15 months stay + 1 year earlier stay = > 2 years stay.
will i face any problem at entry point in canada with immigration officer ?

No, it should not be a problem since you are only gone for 2.5 years.

thanx Mr Leon, one more thing. i renewed my passport few weeks ago, somehow my previous passport which was used for very first entry in canada for immigration is missing.
still i m searching it, but if i fail to get that, will that cause some trouble in future ? it had the sticker issued for immigration, crossed by the immigration officer on first entry.
regards

You don't need your original passport, just a valid passport and a PR card.

I guess that u want to ask if there would be a problem when u apply for a new PRC !
in this case I think you need your old passport at that point, or bring a police report about missing it.

well frends i found it in a mutilated form. my nephew has made few sketches on it and threw it in a corner. what should i do now ?
he has torn apart 2 or pages as well. almost 75 % of a page.

should i tell police about this ? should i give it back to passport office authorities ?
