Return After Completing Landing

Hello All,

I am currently in India with stamped visa and a CoPR. I am planning to get married first.

Incase my PR is expiring before i get married, i just want to do a quick trip to Canada to complete landing formalities.

1. Can we give Friend's address for PR card delivery ?
2. What are the risks involved ?

If your marital status changes before Landing, you need to inform CIC & add your spouse to your application, submit her docs etc and then get your new Visa + COPR. Also you need to ask CIC to cancel your present PR Visa + COPR.

You can land and apply for PR card to send to your friend. But you can always get a Travel Document from India to come back without a PR Card, if you choose not to ask your friends to send the PR card through Fedex etc. In this case, you need to sponsor your wife through Family Sponsorship.

Hi Maniac,

I would consider that as the best case in my situation. But the problem is, i am not sure when the marriage would happen. Totally unpredictable.

Hence, my question was,
What is the best alternative in case my Visa expiry is nearing and i am still single. ?

Is it recommend or even ok to give friend's address for PR card. ?

Yes you can give friends address for PR card.
