Hi everyone, I'm trying to apply for a restoration of status after my work permit (IEC) expired.
I want to go from worker to visitor in order to be able to stay for 5 more months so my girlfriend and I can get married or complete de 12 months required to be common law partners and begin the process for the spouse or common law sponsorship.
So the big question is if:
1) getting married
2) trying to complete 12 months living together as common law partners or
3) because I want to stay longer with my long term girlfriend
Are these valid reasons when they ask the purpose of your trip?
We have been together as a couple in Canada for 34 months and living together for 10 months.
(I have always been legally in Canada and my girlfriend is a Canadian national)
