Restoration of Student Permit! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE???

Hi guys...

I forgot to extend my student permit after it has been expired on May 31st. I applied for extension in June and paid $125. However, I didnt realize I have to pay the restoration fee until the cic sent me a mail in late Aug. Then I immediately send the $200 restoration fee to cic office. They received my application on Aug 21st. When will I get the new study permit?? I am so worried as I have booked the plane ticket back to hk in xmas...can anyone help me?? Thanks ><

As you are talking about moving in December, I don't think processing should take that long. You should hear from CIC by October 15 to 20. If you do not get any response from them by October 20th, that's when you should better call and check with them.

I would suggest you keep a check on your application's progress after every 10 days just to ensure all is going fine (I meant by checking it on my CIC).

Thanks!!!! But I have called the cic and asked..that lady said restoration takes much longer than extension. The extension takes about 51 days and she said restoration may take 3 months longer. Is that true??

Real time cases, extension takes around 30 days that's what I have seen happening.. Now about restoration, a friend applied two weeks ago and spoke to cic agent. Was told to check after 30 days ... So even if it takes longer in ur case, I don't think they will take three months to process it... But then I am not cic... I only talked bases the cases I saw here in the forums and from personal contacts.

Thank you so much...the cic agent was so rude I feel much better after reading your words. I really freaked out when I heard she said 5 months...

I cant check my status on MYCIC coz it's not available for study permit. I can just go to the guides and they are processing the application received on 23th July now. So for my case, my application has been received on 21st Aug...so what I can do is to wait?
