Restoration of Status Question

Hi Everyone!

Need some experienced people's advised regarding my Situation. I lost my legal status in Canada as a worker less than 90 days ago, now I am planning on applying for restoration of status and apply for student permit. I can really find the answer to my question online (cic website) I have been reading and browsing, or I could have missed it. Anyway, my question is, (1) do I need to write a letter to CIC together with the IMM form explaining why I need to restore my status? (2) Can I submit my application online for restoration of status in my CIC account, if yes not sure which option in there. Can someone who knows guide me please. (3) How long would it take for the Restoration of Status be processed (turn around time )?

Hoping anyone in this forum knows the answer to my question.

1) After you generate the checklist you will be given the chance (or not) to submit a letter of explanation:

2) Yes, in fact that is the way to do it. Log into your myCIC and follow the instructions.
