Hello,

I've been searching like crazy on these forums and I can't seem to come to a conclusion about the situation I am in.

I've been living in working in Korea since 2008 so I haven't paid taxes in Canada since then. I know I can write a letter explaining why I do not have the Option C printout but I'm wondering what is the best thing to send in its place.

Is just a letter from my current employer enough? I have only been working there since March of this year.

Should I submit my Korean tax information? If so, can I translate it on my own?

Do I need to submit pay stubs for the last 12 months if I have provided a letter from my employer? My pay stubs would only be from March, April, and May of 2016 (my current job) and October, November, and December 2015 from a short term job I held. I was unemployed the other months during the past year.

I read someone's reply from awhile back suggesting sending in the last Option C available from the Canada Revenue Agency. I called them and they said they could provide it, but is that even useful at all? Tax information from 8 years ago?

In conclusion, which is best?
(1) Letter explaining why I don't have Option C + employer's letter
(2) Letter explaining why I don't have Option C + employer's letter + Korean tax documents
(3) Letter explaining why I don't have Option C + employer's letter + Korean tax documents + 6 months worth of pay stubs?
(4) Any other combination

I would love any advice or input!

Hi

I would go with option 3. There is no point in getting the old Option C, as it doesn't show what CIC wants to see, namely that you aren't on welfare and confirmation of Canadian income.
