Hi

I have questions regarding moving from one province to another,

If a person residence of manitoba and moving/working in BC, Alberta and SKS without changing Manitoba residency, is this illegal or not allowed. I moved to Manitoba for real estate business from Alberta lived there for three months changed my residency from Alberta to MB, now I am working in BC for 10 months but my intention is to go back to Manitoba once I finish my BC job, in the mean time I also worked for sometime in Alberta with a recruiting company for three months without changing my Manitoba residency.

My initial intention for Manitoba was also to apply for sponsoring my close relatives but now I decided to apply for them only once I get back to Manitoba and stay their for some time, but if don't change my residency so any agency like CRA or immigiration has problem.

I don't know if you will have a problem for not changing your residency. I am sure CRA will see when you file your taxes where you have been working. You also need to stay in Manitoba at least 6 months in each calendar year to keep your health care.

Thanks
Leon, but does it means that CRA would have any problem if I file tax from Manitoba but work in Alberta and BC.

I have no idea. They do say you should inform them of your new address asap if you move, see http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/tpcs/ncm-tx/chngddrss-eng.html

You realize if you move for work, you can also claim your moving expenses as a deduction, see http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/ndvdls/tpcs/ncm-tx/rtrn/cmpltng/ddctns/lns206-236/219/menu-eng.html
