Fortunately I have my SIN number (and I've started my OSAP application).

Doing the MBA at Rotman, so it's very expensive. I got a $30k scholarship + some other benefits. I've also paid the $5k deposit, but without OSAP it's unaffordable, so don't want to have to not start the course.

Conscious I'm a bit silly for not double and triple checking the requirements before setting this whole process in motion. I also gave up places at American MBAs with $80k+ scholarships as Rotman seemed like a good choice with OSAP...

Congratulations! You ve chose one of the best MBA programs in the world. I know many of my friends with stellar academic record who couldnt get in. I am sure your OSAP will work out.

Hi. Does anyone know if which should I do first, apply for the masters degree program or apply for OSAP?

Where is it mentioned that someone should be in canada for a year before applying?also can me have osap and then my wife apply for herself as well?

Hi, so I shall be starting my MBA at Rotman too this August, hopefully (awaiting visa). What is OSAP?

Hi there,

Just to confirm, you don't need to have lived in Canada for 12 months+?

I am a Canadian citizen, due to start my MBA in September; however, I have never lived in Canada, so I am really concerned I won't be eligible for OSAP.

I'll be moving to Toronto in August.

Thanks

Yes, you don't need to have lived in Canada for 12 months. I don't think as a returning Canadian your situation would be different than a new PR.
Good luck for the MBA. Rotman looks like a great program, did some continuing education at University of Toronto (project management) and campus facilities are excellent. Can't afford the high fees of the MBA program though (over 100K) even with OSAP and must start to work to pay bills. Applying for Ryerson (part-time)

Can me and my wife have osap or only one person can have osap? Am asking this because couldnt find any info available on that matter, thanks
Both of you can apply but I believe they have a limit per household. Because my wife has applied this year for spring term and what she got was quite low

Admission to a program comes first. Because you need to provide details about your school when applying for OSAP. Also some documents will need to be submitted to the financial aid office of the school you will be studying at.

OSAP often doesn't cover the cost of full tuition and livinv costs. People work part-time in the year and full-time in the summer, there are private loans available for some programs (often professional degrees) and family often pay the rest through savings. It may not be possible for 2 spouses to go to school at the same time especially if they have children. One may have to work to pay for living expenses.

Does anyone have suggestions for short courses medically related or sports related as a means of starting an alternative career with good pay

Shorter courses tend not to lead to the most lucrative careers. You probably need to look at at least a 2 year course.

Most courses would likely be 2 years long and require quite a lot of studying and effort.
