I've been in canada from Dec 2015 and my permanent residence was finalize on the 28 of Feb 2018...so that means those days count for my obligations and citizenship? And

No, the residency obligation is only counted from the date that your COPR was signed.

You can count each day you had legal status before you recieved your PR as 1/2 day for citizenship up to 365 days. So you can count 2 of the years before you got your PR towards 1year of the citizenship requirement, provided you were in Canada legally. You still have about 2 years to go before you can apply.

Yea that's what I was thinking also...so if say I wanted to travel to visit back home for few days say next year summer would that put a damper on my obligations? Or if even this Xmas?

Nope, you just deduct those days. The time in Canada doesn’t have to be continuous. Just 1095 days in the past 5 years. Go have a visit at home. You’ll be fine.
