We landed on Jan 5, 2018 and would be moving to Canada on Nov 9, 2020 permanently. Just wanted to confirm that we are still in RO compliance with about 2 months buffer.

thank you. should we expect any additional questions at the border? if asked about delay in moving, can we just say delay in job search due to pandemic?

It's always possible there may be additional questions. Just answer truthfully. Keep it short and to the point. As you've said, you still have room to meet the residency requirement.
Thank you. Did you reside in Canada after your landing in Jan 2018? Or did you move once and for all in Nov 2020 and intend to stay for 2 years continuously to maintain the residency requirements? I am in a similar position and have about 7 months of buffer. I intend to move in the next two months.

your question makes no sense to me. if they didn't question me with 2 months buffer, why will they question you for 7 months buffer? also why should I reside 2 years continuously when I have 2 months buffer? I have that buffer to use for travel if needed.
My question was simply about you spending any time between 2018 and Nov 2020? I understand now that you haven’t spent any time in Canada since your landing and moved once and for all in Nov 2020. I do have 7 months buffer but won’t be able to move before May as I am in the process of getting a transfer from my company so it would be more like 4 months buffer. Also, there are various posts here which say that they may question at the border and flag if one is too close to the 3 year mark.
