Hello all. I would like to know if anyone can tell me for certain if living outside of Canada, with my Canadian spouse will mean I could lose my Pr. I understand that an pr has to live at least two out of the five years to keep Pr, but I read somewhere that they time spent outside would also qualify if with spouse? As I also plan to apply for citizenship, as well Long story short, I was sponsored by my wife ; landed In July of this year, and she may be getting a job offer for a 2 year contract working for a company in California. She wants to take it, am I in jeopardy of losing pr if i move with her, for a few years?

If you are living with your Canadian spouse, your days outside of Canada will count towards the PR Residency Obligation.

However, those days will not count towards the residency requirement for citizenship.
