Rescheduling an interview

Hi!
My partner and I were called for an interview but only with 12 days advance notice. We live in a different country than his country of origin where the visa offixe is (Cairo) and need to book time off work and flights. Has anyone ever been successful rescheduling such appointment? I emailed them asking if it would be possible to reschedule for the following month and explained why. If anyone can share what their experience was like that d be appreciated.

Singapore Visa Office once informed me that any reschedule would mean minimum one year delay.....I don't know about your VO's rescheduling waiting time.
