hi,

Do I really need to come back at my home
Country Philippines after 6 months? Or I can exit to another country that allows Canadian Visa holders to enter without even applying for another visa to that certain country and come back after 2 weeks?

Do they count that as my exit or I should go back in the Philippines?

As a visitor, you should generally be spending more time outside of Canada each year than in Canada. If you have been in Canada for six months, leave Canada, and then attempt to re-enter again within two weeks, it's quite possible you may run into issues at the border and may be denied entry. If you want to remain beyond six months, the best option is to apply for an extension from within Canada.

Hi!

Thank you for your reply.

But is it necessary to come back to my home country or I can exit elsewhere like Mexico then come back after 2 weeks?

You could leave Canada and go to any country you want but the principle issue remains the same if after spending 6 months as a visitor you leave and come back after 2 weeks there is always a possibility you might be denied entry or given a visitor record restricting stay for just a few weeks.

Your best option still would be to stay and apply to extend your stay as a visitor given not only can you stay on pending a decision but get the time allocated once a decision has been made.

As stated you can go anywhere, but trying to reset a visa like this might be seen as abuse of a visitor visa and the immigration officer always has the right to refuse or give you a short visa duration.

Thank you for your comments.

I have another question. The real reason why I don’t have a return flight ticket back to my home country is because we are planning to get married in Canada.

Is it possible after we got married, we’ll immediately file an inland spousal sponsorship application? From what I read, people who have a temporary status in Canada can apply as long as the marriage is legit. And with inland sponsorship, they will let me stay in Canada I just need to file for extension of stay until my spousal sponsorship is approved. And while my application is on process and I left the country there are possibilities that the immigration might deny me from re-entering Canada and our inland sponsorship application may be deemed abandoned and we have to apply for another application which is outland sponsorship which not allow me to enter Canada while my application is not yet approved.

We just don’t want to be apart while waiting for the process to be done. And going in and out of the country is expensive too.
