REQUIREMENT OF Income TAX Return( ITR ) FOR WP VISA stamping

I have got the LMO for the canadian work permit , i have to submit my documents for visa stamping , just wanted to know if Income TAX Return also has to be submitted for the same .I dont have Income TAX Return documents with me ,Is there any other document i can submit instead of that . will a form 16 do from a private company .
please let me know in this regards.
