My situation is:
  • Applying for LMIA / CAQ
  • My visa type will be Global Talent Stream (Category B); i.e., a temporary foreign worker permit
  • I am applying from the US
  • I will be entering Canada with a spouse (Green Card holder) and dependent (US citizen)
  • I have a valid job offer with an employer in Montreal for whom I already work
My main questions are:
  • What visa types do my spouse and dependent need to apply for given that I will be applying under the Global Talent Stream?
  • Do we need to all apply at the same time?
My current understanding is that my spouse will be eligible for an open work permit, and that our dependent can get a "visitors record" that will allow the dependent to attend school. I can only find bits and pieces of this information online and no consulates/embassies/visa processing centers I've tried to contact are taking calls or replying to emails.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your spouse needs an SOWP and your child technically can enter Canada as a US citizen. Your wife will need an SOWP to accompany you to Canada. You should apply for the SOWP with your WP. Is your partner from a visa exempt country?

Thank you for the reply, @canuck78 !

My spouse is indeed from a visa-exempt country.

I have been advised that I can apply for both the OWP for my spouse and the visitors record for our dependent directly at the land border when we enter Canada (the plan is to drive).

The biggest thing I want to be sure of is that I am preparing the correct documentation for the type of visas/residence permits that they will need. Do you know if there is a single place I can check to confirm all the requirements? With all the different tracks (which is in itself awesome) I am having difficulty finding with 100% confidence the requirements for our exact situation.
