Hey everyone

I sent off my PR renewal application but when I was filling in my application I noticed that on the CIC page, there is no mention of photocopying passport pages and translating stamps at all ?

Even when I checked the document checklist, it only lists things like the application itself, photos, a primary identity document and the checklist itself.

Do they no longer require passport photocopies and translatio of all the stamps ? I already sent those off with my application package because I thought they are needed.

I also sent off copies of my university transcripts so I'm just a bit worried that I might have sent too many documents that could trigger secondary review because I have quite a number of stamps in my passport.

Thanks!

Actually it appears all of those things you sent are needed. Look at the Instruction Guide!

Straight from the website..

Include these documents when you apply:

your PR card

If you are applying to renew your card, keep your current card and include a photocopy of it with your application.

If you are applying to replace a card because it is damaged or the information on it is wrong, send the card with your application.
a copy of:
your valid passport or travel document, or
a copy of the passport or travel document you held at the time you became a permanent resident

Photocopies must be clear or we will send your application back to you.
two photos that meet the Photo Specifications (if they do not meet them, they will not be accepted and we will send back your application),
any other identity documents listed in the Document Checklist (which is part of the application package), and
Supplementary Identification Form (PDF, 797.28 KB) (IMM 5455).
Photo specifications

Photos for PR cards must follow our specifications. These photos are not passport photos. You can print the Photograph Specifications PDF (PDF, 614.24 KB) and bring it with you when you have your photos taken.

Incomplete applications

If we send back your application because it is not complete or is missing information, we will include a letter telling you what we need from you. Add the missing information or fees described in the letter and return everything to CIC. If you do not provide everything that is asked for, we will send back your application again.

Hey yeah I saw that

It's just because when I was checking the guide a couple of months ago, it specifically said to copy all pages of all passports held in the past five years and translate all stamps. It was mentioned in the checklist as well but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore

I guess more proof never hurts anyway

Thank you for your help
