requesting ATIP

I have requested ATIP for my citizenship application today. One of my friend is saying it may slow down the application, is it true? I got an email stating that it may take 30 days for ATIP request to get processed. Did any one requested this ? I am wondering if any one can share their experience on requesting ATIP and how long it took for CIC for processing the same.

It is a wrong info. ATIP takes 30 days and if you request physical files, it may take longer.
