Currently I am appealing PRTD on H&C decision and want to request for issuance of Travel Document to attend the Appeal Hearing in person. What kind of reason will be good that they will allow me to attend the appeal hearing in person? Thanks.

Have you been in Canada in the past year?

no, I need court order to CIC to issue TD for me to return back but I am afraid that they only allow me to use telephone. I am trying to write application to them but not sure how to convince them to let me return. Please help. Thanks.

1. You are going to have to convince the IAD that there is a unique reason why you need to attend the hearing in person, rather than on the phone. If you don't have a very good reason, it is unlikely that you will get a travel document.

Not really. They can make arrangements for a translator to be there during the process. Besides, you seem to be corresponding in English now, so why the need for a translator?

Translator can translate over the phone. No need for you to be there in person.

I can only read and write English but not listening and talk English. I am 75 and having hearing problem and need hearing assistance. I am not sure if they can allow me to return for hearing.

Can you travel through the USA and enter Canada via a land border? You wouldn't need PR TD for this.

My PR card expired in 2011 and I don't think they will let me enter Canada. I am writing letter to request TD for appeal hearing in person and trying to find good reason for it.

As long as you're still a PR, you have a right to enter Canada even if you have an appeal hearing pending. If crossing land border, you don't need a PR Travel Document.

Thanks for all the help! Can I try to apply for hearing in person first? If got rejected, then try to cross border with expired PR card.
