Renting in Vancouver

Moving to Vancouver in March next year. My plan is to stay at 1 month temporary accommodation while looking for a 1 year lease place. A rental agent told me it's almost impossible to find anything decent with just 1 month, 2 months temporary accommodation arrangement is recommended.

Some people (not on this forum) claims even there are listings on craigslists, most will get plenty of applications and will not be up to the renter to pick and choose.

Anyone has any condo/apartment renting experience recently in Vancouver?

craiglist is your best bet, renting in vancouver is crazy.
