Hi

1. If the dependents (spouse and children) have fulfilled the PR requirement by staying in Canada for 2 years, but the principle works outside Canada, can the dependents maintain/ renew their PRs (without the principle) ?

2. The principle will lose his PR as he fails to fulfill the 2-year stay requirement, can he reapply the PR immediately based on the ground that his family are living in Canada ? (The children are too young to be his sponsor in this case)

Thanks.

1. After the family lands as PR, there is no principal applicant anymore. Each person in the family is equally PR so the status of one family member will not affect the others.

2. Better have the spouse sponsor you. Applying to keep your PR on humane & compassionate grounds because you have children in Canada could work but since you've been away from your children enough to lose your PR, immigration might not see them as a valid reason to let you keep it.
