renewal of Indian passport while on study permit , how much validity i get ?

hello guys

if i renew my Indian passport while i am on study permit , how much validity i get for passport ? has anyone been through this situation ? i red on some post that few people only got 2 year (normally you get 10 years ) validity but i am not sure whether they were on study permit .

Your passport will be renew by consaulate general of india it will be issued with 10 yrs validity..here in canada you can apply through BLS
