Renew TRV from inside Canada

Hi all,

I am currently an international student in Canada. My study permit and TRV expired in april and i have already renewed my study permit. Right now, i need to renew my TRV in order to return back to canada after i return home in july.

I applied to extend my stay as a visitor ( IMM5708) and my application was cancelled. i called the embassy and the agent told me i filled in the wrong application form. she told me that i should have filled in IMM5257 instead. Hence, i started a new application but after completing the questionnaires, the application form they provided me with is always IMM5708. IMM5257 for outside of canada is under "optional documents". does anyone know what is wrong here? Did i answer some questions wrong? I am confused.

Yes, you answered wrongly.

Most probably you said you want to be here more than 6 months.

i selected i want to be here temporary less than 6 months. still the same result

"temporary less than 6 months"
"my country of passport"
"currently residing in canada"

and it says "you may be eligible to extend your stay in canada as a visitor?"

the results still provided me with IMM5708 for application form.
