Renew my passport

Hi Guys,

I have received my letter of introduction for one year but while applying I have changed my program to 2 years ( got my new admission ) , Can I ask officer at airport to get my study permit for 2 years by showing him my new admission ?
Also my passport validity is for a year and I applied under this passport for my study permit, and now I want to renew my passport in order to have enough passport validity , will be ok and officer would approve ?

On the POE letter, it is clearly mentioned that you will get the visa only for the validity of your study/passport expiry. I think you will have to go with this passport then just before expiring your passport you should go back to your country and renew your passport and re-apply again. This is not info it is just my knowledge and understanding towards this process.

thank you for your quick response , I have read that but my lawyer said you can apply for new passport that's why I asked here to see anyone faced the same issue before

To change your DLI before landing in Canada, you will need to apply for a new study permit (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ices/study-canada/change-schools/account.html).

thank you for your quick response , I have read that but my lawyer said you can apply for new passport that's why I asked here to see anyone faced the same issue before

many many thanks but this only mentioned the school changes, however, I change my program from same college from post graduate to diploma , should I again inform them before landing?

Hi, I am on the same boat. And I have learnt is that it is much easier to renew the passport and update work permit date in Canada than do it from here...

You didn't indicate in your post it was still the same school. I'm not sure what the rules are w.r.t changing programs within the same DLI. My guess is that you can always extend your SP after landing. That will be your best bet in order to avoid any hassle prior to landing.

Hi , yes I forgot to mention that , I hope I can while landing in Canada for extension and avoid resubmit my application for new study permit
