Hi everyone, as the title suggest I wanted to ask about your experiences with removing someone from your file as dependent.

I'm a protected person and I applied to PR back in oct 2025, in the application I added my common-law partner back in my home country. We decided to break up and he doesn't want to come to Canada anymore. How do I remove him and does it effect my PR process (does it slow it down?). I did not receive my AOR yet.

You are sending a request via the addict's Uci and webfrom with the file number, give full detailed information, then they ask you for approval as the original file owner, you make webfrom again with a signed petition and he leaves your file (you can do it directly yourself, you will write the exact details directly with your own Uci and application number, you will send a web form with a wet signature) I recently removed the foreign addict who does not want to come in this way

Hello, I already sent a webform before posting this thread but they still didn't reply yet, I told them that we broke up and I want him to be taken out of my case. Let's wait and see then.

Wait until they ask you for a document, they will send you a form instruction, you will write the Separation request again with your wet signature.
