Removing spouse mid-application processing

Hello everybody!
i have applied as a principal applicant around a year and half ago, through OINP with my wife as a dependent who's coming with me to Canada. today we no longer are together, and she has no interest in this anymore. we didn't get officially divorced yet (takes some time + the pandemic).
now i need to make the change (remove spouse) as i need to do my medical exam after it expired. my question is:
Is there going to be a problem in my application if i remove my spouse now mid-processing (after doing some research i realized its in the last steps of the processing)?

You'll need to provide proof you have separated. Have you filed the divorce paperwork yet? If so, you can submit that as evidence of separation.
