Hi all,
I met my girlfriend during my college days a couple of years ago. She is studying for the bar to pursue a career as a barrister. And I would like to go forward with my PhD and then to launch a career with equal importance to research and academia. I'm damn sure that we both are capable enough to achieve the heights that we envision and if we were both Canadian citizens, we could dream of a bright future together. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. I'm a fully fledged Canadian while she is French.
Her learner visa expires in December. In previous years, a lot of options were open before us. She could have applied for a post-study work visa or we could have registered our relationship or even married to gain a spousal visa. But the thing is that, if we do so, marriage alone will not keep us both together in the Canada. I must meet a huge amount of earnings threshold.
The burden is on me alone. I'm ready to do anything for my girl. But, I'm unemployed and it's very difficult to find a job with better wages in the graduate job market and the funding for my PhD study will be also left back as I can't meet all the expenses of my own.
There are only two ways before me...to hold back my love with me always.
1) Possibly, I should sacrifice my life in Canada and move to France, a nation with good life chances, and known for providing better opportunities in academics as well as in research domain.
2) We may split up for some years. Meanwhile, I can attempt to find a good job so that I can fulfil the mandatory government targets.
After thinking a lot, I realized that I can't stay away from her. So, I'm planning to relocate to France along with her. As I have many household articles to carry with me, it will be a tiresome task. I’m now in search for an international moving service provider to shift my stuff. I came across an international mover in my search. But, I'm not aware of the further procedures to get their services. Are they offering moving services to France? Do you know more about this?
