Hi all,
I have few questions about missionary or religious visa for Canada. I am an Indian and I wish to go to Canada to fulfill God's call in my life.I was with a mission organization in India for 2 years.

I needed guidance into this like is it possible, will I be able to work part time to raise support for myself, etc. ?
Please anyone and everyone can pool in.

Thanks,
Jessie

If you are a member of the clergy, then you can come to Canada with a tourist visa only (no work permit):

Clergy are: People coming to Canada to work as ordained ministers, lay persons or members of a religious order do not need a work permit to perform their religious duties or assist a religious group. These religious duties may include preaching doctrine, presiding at liturgical functions or providing spiritual counselling.

If you are not a member of the clergy but want to come to Canada to do missionary / religious work, then you need a work permit to do the missionary / religious work (but no LMO): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who-permit.asp

No - you will not be able to work part time to support yourself and your family. You should bring enough funds to support yourself during your stay.

Thank you very much.

Got one more question though.
You mentioned if I am not a member of a clergy, then I do need a work permit.
So what will be the visa type I should be applying for?

Please guide me further.

Thanks,
Jessie

Instructions on how to apply for a work permit are here:

Yes - you will need to be part of an organization and that organization should provide a detailed letter outlining the missionary work you will be doing in Canada.
