There so many rejections on this forum for stupid reasons, like this
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/cec-rejected-any-advice-t172731.0.html

Do you think that all these reasons are just excuse for rejections?
May be, in reality immigration officers have some unofficial limitation number for different occupations or countries. Following this limitation, they refuse extra applications for stupid reason given for excuse (for example, your job letter does not match exactly to NOC)

They receive dozens of thousand of apps every year n have to somehow narrow the number of applicants. I think that if u really work a high skilled job you're educated for with matching salary, have experience, have proper wp, good language skills etc. n u r thus a perfect candidate, nobody will reject u. However if u dont have all that or if your docs dont clearly demonstrate all that or if if u partially meet those criteria of course they r gg to scrutinize every word u wrote n look for little details: salary, company web page, implied status, Google your name etc. If they see that you're working in a profession you've never worked before, no prior education, low salary for a high position, company doesn't have web page or contact info, your wp is not clear (u worked between periods, after hours, overtime etc), contradictory info, 3 previous rejections for status extension n they realize u r desperately doing anything of course they r gg to be more suspicious. They r probably aware that many will try to sell s**t as gold so they start scanning those apps more thoroughly which sometimes unfortunately results in rejection of those who least deserve it.

In short if u r one of those perfect school example applicants, nobody will reject u. But if you r not that perfect, then your luck depends on the visa officer who gets your case n how flexible/strict he is. Some easily get away with murder while some get punished for loitering

I know one brilliant postdoc from Stanford / UofT (with PhD degree) who was rejected for a stupid reason...

...and the reason was?

I don't think there are stupid reasons - there are rules though - don't follow the rules, get rejected. VO's also make mistakes - we've seen that.

It's been stated here before: it is the applicant's responsibility to prove that they meet all the criteria - CEC is a pass/fail system and unlike other immigration programs around the world and Canada, there is very little room for interpretation or ambiguity.

I don't think there is any conspiracy here - and I'm sorry your friend got rejected: I'm at MR stage and don't have a degree at all- does that make me less eligible than your friend? No because education is not part of a CEC criteria.

People all around the world try to scam immigration systems - to me, CEC says that Canada values immigrants with Canadian experience and actually (comparatively) there's very little else we have to show. Every program has rules: follow them and you have nothing to worry about.

There is zero evidence for this theory where CIC gives 'lame excuses' for rejection with an ulterior motive.

To paraphrase South Park, there are no stupid reasons, just stupid applications. Putting together a CEC application package is a project that takes people weeks or months, and should not be done in a rush.

Be aware though that there are avenues for appeal if you believe they made a mistake or acted outside the law.

They have very strict rules and they go with it point by point..Some time they are little generous in case of RA and TA other wise they follow the rules. I got rejected becoz I applied 10 days before a year from convocation and it was rejected because i accumulated 10 days less experience. It was my fault n faced the consequences. But, now i know how the system works and I am sure my application will go through this time...

There reasons are based on rules, if they end up doing mistake..they reopen the file..if dont then thats how they reply and I think most of them do their work quite diligently..

Dear Applicant,

This refers to your email regarding application XXXXXX

This application for permanent residence in the Canadian Experience Class was considered on its substantive merits but was refused after a careful review of all the information available at the time of decision. The decision was provided to you by email on October 31, 2013 and contains the reasons for the refusal of this application thereby fully concluding this application.

While our decision may come as a disappointment, please be assured that every consideration was given to this application.

Should you have different or additional information, you may wish to submit a new application. You should understand, however, that a new application would require submission of new processing fees, new documentation and that any such application would be assessed according to the criteria in effect at that time. As a result, no assurance of success can be offered.

Yours sincerely,

Hi Gladaki, may I ask to which email address did you send your request regarding the rejection letter? And how long did it take for them to reply to you? Thanks.
