My apologies for the title but I needed to grab ur attention :). Thanks for understanding.

I'm currently residing in US. I've been here for 9 years. Graduated 5 years ago with my BS degree. I got married after I graduated and filed for PR in US. However we had a lot of marital problem. Long story short my PR request for the US was rrecently denied.
I applied to a Master's program in Canada and was accepted. I applied for a study permit and was rejected on the basis that i did not have sufficient funds and did not show strong ties to my country.
I'm trying to reapply again but this time with the help of my dad. He worked for Foreign affairs but now retired for almost 5 years. I don't know if he's status as a retired diplomat can help my case.

Any help, insight or advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

can anyone plz tell what does this statement mean ??? i have seen it at many forums

"visa rejected bcs did not show strong ties to my country."

You applied from the US, you have no actual ties to the US as your Green Card was denied. You don't have ties to your home country as you have no home/job there.

It simply means that u have a strong tendency for immigration to canada, immigration officer do not like to see any student visa applicant to have insufficient funds and have a tendency to immigrate. So all u need to do is simply prove that u will return to yr home country once u finish yr studies and they will issue the visa to u.

I have a home. My parents and sibling still reside there. I just want to complete my Masters degree and not looking to immigrate to Canada. The canadian immigration sounds too complicated for me to wrap my head around lol.

If u have a home in yr hometown, then i suggest u show proof of that and show that u own the land or home through yr title deeds and show proof that yr parents are there and will not immigrate. Most important of all, show u have more than sufficient funds to complete yr studies in canada and return home once u are done.
