I am hoping to start a business soon and have it registered as a corporation. Can I use an UPS mailbox with a street address to file the registration?

Using a UPS mailbox with a street address can work for business registration in some states, but others may require a physical office or a registered agent with a real street address. It’s best to check your state’s specific requirements or consult a business attorney to be sure.

No "States" in Canada, dumb azz!

UPS mailbox should be fine. Other options are a virtual address from iPostal1 (most locations in Canada at Staples stores), or use an independent mailbox rental company such as Private Mailbox Canada (www.privatemailbox.ca). Best of luck.

That’S incorrect

I used to work for Revenue Canada , Corporation tax.
The system will reject PO Box’s . And if you call in, you’ll need to get an actual address
For a GST account . An actual physical address is MANDATORY

If an audit is ever done , how would the auditors go visit a PO Box ?

Not true. These are not PO Boxes. With the UPS Store and other private mailbox providers you get a street address not a PO Box. I know for a fact that many companies use such addresses as their primary correspondence address with the CRA, and even with their bank. Even myself I have used a mailbox address from the UPS Store in Guelph for years before I rented my own office, and I have received all my CRA mails there.

Generally a PO Box from Canada Post would not work but there is a work around in some cases.
