I came to study in 2019 for a four-year undergraduate program and my Study Permit is expiring in 30-April-2024. But I need one more additional semester to complete my program therefore I'm extending the Study Permit for one more year (up to 28-February-2025).

For proof of finance documents, I am required to submit proof of finance for (1) tuition fees ($26,000 per year), and (2) living expenses ($10,000 per year at 2019).

While applying for Study Permit for the first time I got a scholarship of $16,000 and for the remaining amount ($10,000) I showed educational loan letter. For living expenses, I opened an online account on Scotiabank, transferred $10,000 to the account, and I showed bank statement. I applied for the Study Permit from India. My parents are supporting me financially (both for tuition fee and living expenses) ever since the student loan was depleted.

My question is about proof of finance documents that I should submit for (1) tuition fee, and (2) living expenses, while extending Study Permit.

Since I will be submitting my application next month (January 2024), can I submit a receipt that I paid the tuition fees for the Winter 2024 semester for requirement (1) and my bank statement showing that I have $20,000 for requirement (2)? (Since the living expenses increased from $10,000 to $20,000 starting January 2024).

One of my friends in BC showed a payment receipt just for one semester while extending the Study Permit. On the website, it says I should be submitting proof of tuition fee for one year, so my question is (a) I'm not sure whether a payment receipt for just Winter 2024 semester fee (one semester) would be accepted for processing my Study Permit (which I would be extending for 1 year), and (b) since I'm extending the Study Permit and not applying for the first time, am I still required to show a bank statement of $20,000 or is lower amount also acceptable?

Thank you in advance!
