Regarding open work permit

Hi,

I have a valid Canadian work permit till 2019.I am looking for filing Open Work Permit for my husband.
Can anybody guide me through the steps on how to apply and what is the process of applying?

Also please let me if it is better to file through an immigrant consultant or by self.

it is called spouse open work permit
you can submit application on cic website.
cic will guide you what to fill out when you click on "apply for work permit"
start with filling out the eligibility questionnair
if you're not confident, you can find a consultant.

Thanks for your reply. i have not tet entered Canada.. how strong does my case for filing owp for my husband.. am i eligible to file since i have not flew to Canada yet..please let me know.

Yes you are eligible to file owp but one of the requirement for spousal OWP is to attach your payslips and employment letter to the application which I guess you might won't have it as you haven't entered Canada hence your work isn't started yet.
Best option will be to apply once you start working and have some work experience and establish yourself financially and than apply for spousal work permit, by that way you have better chances to get approval.
