Hi,

we are in the same plight. My application is in process and from my research conducted, CIC will approve visa after 60 months waiting period. May I request eduardo how he can possibly help us find job placements there.

Eduardo, pls give us the websites for us to get job offers. Thanks in advance.

When searching for a job in Canada from abroad, remember that you will need to put your best foot forward. Make sure that your resume and cover letter are formatted for the Canadian market and are error-free. If you can, use a friend's Canadian address on your resume and cover letter and do not mention anything about your status in Canada. If you are a permanent resident, you are legal to work here. End of story.

Job boards such as Monster and Workopolis can be very helpful when job hunting from abroad, but don't forget temp agencies in the area where you would like to settle here. You can register and submit your resume online. When they call you, they will most likely conduct a short phone interview before asking you to come in. You'll obviously need to tell them that you are currently abroad, but you still have nothing to lose. Also, do not be afraid of Craigslist. There are some scams, so you will need to be cautious, but there are also legitimate employers looking for solid candidates.

Finally, many companies do have a careers sections where they invite you to submit your resume directly. Looking for a job is a full time job so work hard at it, be persistent and you will be successful.

Good luck!
