Regarding Bridging Work permit

Hi all

I am currently on an open work permit(through spouse dependent) and I recently applied for Permanent residency.

Mine and my spouse work permit are going to expire in by May first week.
Is it possible for me to apply for a bridge Work permit?

If yes, is it possible for me to visit my home town (India) for a two-week vacation after applying for Bridge work permit?

Requesting to please guide /suggest me regarding the same.
Any help you could extend regarding this will be really grateful.

Yes you can apply for BOWP. I think you can leave after you receive your permit.

Your visa needs to be valid to come back into the country. Just the permit extended is not good enough. Once you get the new work permit you can apply for the new visa. Without a valid work permit and visa you will not be allowed back in.

Sorry,One thing I missed to clarify in my query, is it possible for me to go on vacation while my Bridging Work permit process in progress.
I have a valid work permit and visa until May 03rd, 2019.
Will it is fine I can go on vacation and come back before my work permit and visa get expired.

I did leave and come back when I had a valid visa with 2 months left...I was scared they will ask at the airport why I dont have a return ticket when I have only 2 months left on my visa but they didn't ask anything...

my Current score is 458.
hopefully get an ITA by this week.
Can I apply for BOWP as soon as I get my AOR upon submission of PR documents, Or should I wait till i get r10 check complete.?
My work permit expires in AUG 2019. So I have only 2 months to spare.

How long does it typically take to hear back regarding the work permit? Is there somewhere I can call to find out if it's been received and is in good order?

Also, I have an upcoming trip(within Canada)- is that okay??

yes, if you are PR and Citizen, you can order it from ATIP else use the third party.
GCMS notes are requested under ATIP
