Dear All

Hello

I have completed my masters in Computer Science and having 3 year of work experience [ 5 Months as IT Support Engineer and 2.8 Months as a Cisco Instructor & Lecturer] in Pvt Engg college in India. Now i want to join PCC college in Canada. What are the chances of Job opportunity after completion of the courses form PCC. If some other better opportunity i can avail than let me know please. I am also interested for work permit in Canada. I have already given IELTS . My overall band is 6.5.[R: 6 S: 6.5 L: 7 W:5.5].

Tell me some good career colleges name also.

Please provide me some valuable suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Private colleges have a poor reputation in Canada. If you want to attend college, you should attend a public college instead.

Thanks a lot for your response Scylla..!!!

So what are the options for me as i want to attend two years or 1.5 years courses? I have already completed my PG also, so let me know about better opportunity . Tell me the name of few public colleges also.

thanks

Private Career Colleges = Both Good and Bad depends on the College AND Province.

In Ontario there is a lack of enforcement so lots of dubious Private Institutions.

In other Provinces there is strict enforcement and standards are higher e.g. BC where most Accredited Colleges are Good.

Employment.

1. You must pick a Program that is in demand in the market, (Software Development, Mobile Apps etc),

2. Try to get into a program that has a Paid work Co-op, this gives you real local Employment Experience, Pays you back your costs and sets up your Career Path.

Not all Private Colleges are "bad" or "poor" in reputation.

In large Public Institutions there is no Commercial reasons to be accountable to the Student so classes are large and students are more of a faceless number.

Good Private Colleges are forced to be accountable via reputation and treating students well to be Commercially viable in the long run and tend to have much smaller class sizes.

first u have to check the PCC ur talking about is on the designated list so that u can apply for visa. secondly u have to be careful of PCC as they can shut down or have problems later. thirdly be careful of sub standard/fake PCC. so given a choice public colleges seems like a safe bet. u should google colleges / universities in canada u will find tons of information. Also seems like u have a masters and i wont recommend u PG courses as it affect ur visa chances. safe bet is masters or preferably Phd. Finding a job is totally different issue getting a degree/diploma/certificate does not guarantee a job. U need a lot more than just education . u need soft skills, networking skills(friends , relatives), luck, presentation skills etc to name a few.

Thanks a lot for valuable suggestions OrcaBayVan & mead. So i am not interested in Phd. Is there any other options for me getting some job in canada as it seems study is now no more good options for me ......plz advice me what should i do

Our College deals specifically in IT (Mobile Applications).

Both getting Students Study and Open Work Permits and a Job in the local Tech sector after graduation.

In the Mobile App space there are lots of good paying jobs for qualified people.

I am working for 2 Private Career Colleges in Vancouver..I might be biased, but we are overseen by the Ministry of Education as well as PCTIA (Private Career Training Institutions Agency), with that in mind, we are regulated much stronger than any public college.
