Hello,
i am indian applicant, just now to start to process under canada federal skill worker programe,
my query is that, being chemical engineer by eductaion, can i apply in mechanical(piping engineer) code-2132,

because by professional i am working as piping engineer since last 8 years,

If you have required experience in this category, i think then you can apply under this category.
you can check this link.

The answer to your question can be found in the employment section of this URL

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2132

Under the section of Employment requirements:

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related engineering discipline is required.

A master's degree or doctorate in a related engineering discipline may be required.

Licensing by a provincial or territorial association of professional engineers is required to approve engineering drawings and reports and to practise as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).

Engineers are eligible for registration following graduation from an accredited educational program, and after three or four years of supervised work experience in engineering and passing a professional practice examination.

Probably its too late to apply under noc 2132 category. Already 120 members till June 2nd week on CIC update. 30% members present in this forum. Moreover You need to have your Education in Mechanical Engineering as mentioned by HRSDC. Its better to apply under Chemical Engineer even if you have at least 1 year of work experience than there are more chances to fall in the cap limits as noc 2134 not much hot as 2132.

Go through these links you will be having better idea

thanks to all,
but still 30% i am not clear, below i have mentioned my work experience summary:

passout-2002(CHEMICAL ENGINEERING)
From 2002-2006 worked as chemical engineering role
from 2006 to till date working as piping engineer, which is comes under mechanical engineering code.

now my query is if i choose NOC for chemical engineer, and suppose i got PR than can i work for PIPING ENGINEER????
and same way if i applied in MECHANICAL ENGINEEERING NOC CODE and my education certificate will show degree in chemical engineering, so that will creat any worse effect while getting VISA?????

i hope all of you understood above query,

thanking you once again,

It means 30% members are present in Spreadsheet created by forum members under 2132. Nearly 30 applicants within the forum under 2132 got PER from the forum until mid june while CIC Update is 120. You can work in any field after getting PR. Its your choice. :)

You Must have at least one year of experience in one of the list of 24 categories in last 10 years.
that means between 2003-2013.
As you have 4 years experience as a chemical engineer during 2002-2006 and rest as a mechanical engineer's profile, your total 3 years of experience as a chemical engineer will b counted, you can apply under the Chemical Engineer's category., because you have better chances to get into the cap in that category..!
